FCC Servicios Corporativos is ISO 45001 certified, as proof of its efficient occupational health and safety management practices

FCC Servicios Corporativos was ISO 45001 certified in March 2021 with regards to its occupational health and safety management practices.

The ISO 45001 standard is the most recognised international standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This standard can be voluntarily adopted by organisations can adopt to establish, implement, maintain and improve their Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. ISO 45001 is an international standard that replaces the previous OHSAS 18001 and establishes the background for continuous improvement on matters relating to health and safety management, based on the following principles:

  • Providing safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Meeting the applicable legal requirements and any other requirements.
  • Monitoring health and safety risks through the use of a control hierarchy.
  • Ongoing improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, with the aim of improving how the organisation runs.
  • Guaranteeing the participation of workers and other stakeholders in the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

FCC Servicios Corporativos started the certification process in December 2020 (1st phase) and completed it in March 2021, through the adequacy audits conducted by the authorised entity SGS ICS Ibérica. The team of auditors conducted the relevant audits and concluded that the organisation meets the audit objectives, by having established and maintained its management system in accordance with the standard's requirements, demonstrating the system's ability to effectively meet the standard's requirements with regards to the organisation's scope, objectives and policy.

In this regard, this certification represents a further step towards the continuous improvement of all procedures and processes, with the aim of equating them with the best health and safety standards at the workplace.
